What's happening in our family?

Alayna:
Alayna is 4 going on 14 (or so it seems at times). She continues to grow and amaze us with her increased vocabulary and statements. I am sure the surprises will just continue throughout the year.

Alexis:
Alexis has been our resident drama queen! Literally! She participated in drama camp this summer honing her skills - as though she needed to. This school year will see her be part of the HATS program through the school - the gifted program for select students. She will going into the 4th grade.

Alan-Michael:
Alan-Michael just completed his second year with the AquaCats by being the most improved in his age group - for the second year in a row. He shaved roughly 26 seconds off his breast stroke. Now, he will be starting his second year of tackle football. Hopefully he will do so injury free. I will be helping out this year as one of the coaches -working with defensive and offensive backs. On top of that, he will starting middle school this year - 6th grade! WOW! Where has the time gone?

Austin:
Austin will be a FRESHMAN in high school this year! He will continue to participate in basetball, but has decided to pick up baseball instead of continuing with football. In response to that, Austin is seeing a trainer (OJ Rhone / Youth Excited about Sports) twice a week. Since Austin has not played baseball since 2004, he is very green - which is good from a pitching standpoint. Being a southpaw (lefty) he has a really good opportunity to see playing time early - if we can get him ready. OJ has done a great job so far. With Austin being "green," everything he is learning is fresh and he is not having to relearn new habits. A bonus to this all is that OJ is a Christian. It is awesome to see him constantly compare Austin's training (he constantly remarks to Austin) to his faith. So many similarities.

Tonya & Mike:
I am continuing to enjoy my ministry in Harrisonville. I see where we are having an impact, but we are also being blessed just as much. I'm looking forward to many years of service with the people.

Tonya continues her in-home daycare. She started this last year and it continues to be a huge blessing for our family. In a unique turn of events, she will be tested in late August or early September to see if she can be a bonemarrow donor for a young lady. The interaction between Tonya and this young lady has been priceless. God is using Tonya to be a blessing and in return she is growing in her own faith. More details to come as this continues to develop.
