Well, finally! I get to come back and update the family website. It was mostly a forced update thinking the original page had been corrupted while I was working on one of our subdomain pages.

It has been nearly two years since we came to Harrisonville to start our ministry with Antioch and the community. This has truely been a family ministry. Not only has our family had an impact on the lives of many inside and outside of the church, but we have been blessed in return.

 

August brings milestones for a couple of our kids. Austin will become a freshman in high school and Alan-Michael moves in the middle school. I can hear the grey hairs multiplying. Alexis will be participating in the school's gifted program as she begins the fourth grade. And Alayna is one year away from kindegarten.

Tonya continues to operate a daycare out of the house. Her decision to make that move last year was a total blessing. She has so much more flexibility to be able to spend with family than before. This has also been a great outreach to several families.

 

And I am continuing to officiate several sports throughout the year. Baseball just finished and softball is right around the corner with basketball right behind that. I became involved with Legion baseball this past summer for the first time.

 

And the biggest news is that we will be actually going on vacation! Disney will be our destination, but we will be waiting until school starts to go. I know that timing is a little odd, but we wanted to go when the crowds were a little lighter and when the kids wouldn't miss too much school. This is a once-in-a-lifetime thing for us, so we are doing it up right.
